I see the need for a magnetic screwdriver for the screws. Makes it seem easy. I was just told the motor on my 5600 is going out.

This is an excellent site. The multiple pictures and videos are great. I wish parts sites for other products were as good.

Thank you! Thank you! Your informative website saved me at least $100. I watched the video on changing the timer. Ordered the part Saturday, received it Monday and had it put in within 20 minutes. My softener is working! I will definitely use this company again. It's great!!

Thanks. Video was good and cross reference of old 1996 part number B13400 to new 2008 part number 18743-1 was helpful. Thanks again.

Great Help, much appreciated.
My biggest problem was finding you guys on the internet and figuring out the model of softener, since there's no manufacturer name on my unit.
I wish there was more self help guides on the internet, since I am a DIY guy.
Thanks.

That was great! My service manual states that according to the malfunction I'm having, the solution is to replace the timer. Timer motor isn't mentioned. But at the end of your video you show that a little window on the motor shows, when the motor is reconnected, that a rotation is visible. The rotation is no longer visible on my current motor so I became convinced that the timer motor is the problem and ordered a new one. From you.
Unfortunately I forgot to order a new tubular screen as well but by the time I got back to site, an hour or so later, my order had already been shipped! Thanks.

I replaced one myself before I saw the video. He did touch on how small and cumbersome the screws are, which is true. I recommend the use of a magnetized screwdriver to aid in replacing the screws.

My timer motor runs hot. It keeps the correct time. Should the motor run hot?

* Yes, the Fleck Timer Motors ( 13400, 18743, 18743-1, etc ) all run hot to the touch normally. This is not something to be concerned about.

I've appreciated all of your videos on the fleck 5600. Replaced the resin and installed the valve kit on a 20 yr old unit. Re-generated two cycles fine, but hung on brine rinse last night. Looks like maybe a timer motor. is there something else i should replace?

Being a twenty five year diesel mechanic and overall fix it guy, I have to say this company and it's site is one of the most informative, helpful and best put together sites I have ever seen. Congradulations on You're ethics and the availability of You're part numbers and cross over numbers. I will defineately tell everyone and anyone who has a problem with they're softener to contact You.I am helping a 70 year old widow (on a fixed income) who lives next door, She called me and asked Me if I could take a look at her softner since the repair company that came out told Her she needed a new softner for only $850.00 they would get Her up and running just like that(How sweet, and the service call was $95.00). I went over and found the motor not spinning, checked voltage and had current. Found this wonderful site and the exact replacement motor and saved her!(well you do the math) $850.00 compared to $32.95.(she unfortuneately lost the $95.00 for the service call, but fear not.My Mother made me pay that.Bless Her) God Bless and keep up the good work. And Sally say's thank You too.(71 in january) Greg from minnesota.
